Three headhunting firms, 10 employees, one mantra: The sky is the limit. There is no glass ceiling when it comes to what Sky Firm's employees can achieve and receive from their recruiting efforts. Some employees even post pictures in their workspaces of things they wish to purchase if they meet their goals.

Sky Firm and President/CEO Blair Gibbs founded his company about a year and a half ago. It consists of three individual headhunting groups targeting upper-level technical positions in three major categories: software, hardware and wireless WiMAX (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access/4G). Working with West Coast business hours, the headhunting groups at Sky Firm mainly service clients located on the West Coast and internationally.

"Our Technical Talent Acquisitions firms place technology professionals into new and better opportunities all over the globe. We plan and are in the process of being "the" go-to source for hard to fill technology industry positions for any company in the world," Blair said.

Sky Firm aims to treat all clients with quality, care, timeliness and professionalism, similar to Y-12 FCU's goals to best serve our members. "Y-12 gives us the network, backbone and products of a national bank, with the personal presence, consideration, care and attention of a smaller bank. After being chewed up and spit out by Hollywood in the late 90s, aspiring actor Blair Gibbs inadvertently backed into a new career. He discovered an opportunity to be a deal closer for a third part recruitment firm. In no time, Gibbs had mastered the business and decided it was time to return to the East Coast. So, Gibbs came home to Knoxville with a business plan. Today, at just 29 years of age, Gibbs is the CEO of a company that boasts three virtual offices and a pool of young "headhunters." (Industry term for deal closer.) The environment at Sky Firm is fast-paced, but Gibbs maintains a relaxed approach to leadership. The next step for Gibbs is the opening of a downtown office.

Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:
- Work with hiring managers and clients to understand position requirements.
- Employ a variety of sourcing techniques to identify and contact new candidates, including Internet searches, referral networking, database prospecting, and cold calling.
- Conduct in-depth candidate interviews, establishing technical qualifications, search parameters, and career objectives with a constant focus on closing.
- Coordinate client-applicant interview processes, identifying and addressing potential issues in order to streamline and accelerate the hiring process.
- Close clients to offers and candidates to acceptance through a clear and detailed understanding of their issues and objectives, using consultative selling techniques with persistent closing throughout the process.
- Minimize fallouts by post-placement follow up to ensure that candidates and clients remained satisfied.
- Work with account managers to understand the opportunity pipeline and to maintain a regular flow of qualified candidates.
- Maintain current technical and business knowledge by following business and trade
publications, as well as learning from candidates and clients whenever possible.
